Some international acquaintances have lost their passports in Vietnam owing to theft, dropping, etc., and this is frequently followed by the loss of Vietnamese visas. If these two critical documents are misplaced, you will be unable to board the plane and depart Vietnam. This is a common occurrence, and many people find themselves in it. At this stage, you must relax and take the following steps:

Ask the authorities to confirm the loss at the police station in the district where you found the lost passport.
Bring the lost certificate to your country’s consulate to apply for a new passport and receive an embassy notification.
For visa and visa formalities, bring the updated slip and passport to the Vietnam Immigration Office.
The aforementioned method could take anywhere from 7 to 15 days to complete. During this time, you will be restricted to assure the authorities’ supervision of foreigners, including the inability to fly to other countries or exit Vietnam.
